Brown Demands Election to be “Certified Without Delay”

The Boston Globe is reporting that Senator-elect Scott Brown's attorney Dan Winslow "this afternoon sent a letter to Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of State William Galvin, requesting them to 'certify without delay' the results of the Jan. 19 special election." The Hill reports that Senator-elect Scott Brown will be sworn in a week from Thursday (February 11). That would be 23 days after winning the special election to fill the vacancy left by the death of Ted Kennedy. Republicans have been crying foul over the possibility that a Scott Brown win today in Massachusetts would be followed by a concerted effort by Democrats in Massachusetts and the U.S. Senate to delay his seating. It can't be said that Barney Frank doesn't have a way with words.
