What agency did a government watchdog group name the most
secretive agency? It’s actually not the CIA.

The most secretive agency is Obama’s
Department of Justice. So much for
Obama’s promise of transparency. There
are 74,000
documents the Department of Justice is hiding from the members of Congress
about the Fast and Furious scandal.

In this outrageous program where an American agent died due
to guns sold by the United States to drug dealers, the DOJ is just shuffling
personnel around instead of taking affirmative actions to punish the wrongdoers.
Just a few resignations have been tendered but no officials have been fired in the
Department of Justice. Acting director
of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Kenneth Melson, Arizona
U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke and Criminal Division Chief Patrick J. Cunningham, have
all resigned.

Frustrated with the Department of Justice’s lack of
responsiveness to the probe in Washington, The Arizona state legislature is doing
their own investigation. Arizona House Speaker Andy Tobin has convened
a special panel.

Members of Congress are frustrated too and calling for change
at the Justice Department. Now Reps.
Cliff Stearns, Mario Diaz-Balart, Bill Huizenga, Cory Gardner, Pete Olson and
Mike Conaway have joined over 100 Members
of Congress calling for Eric Holder’s resignation. When the law enforcement agency looks more
like it’s obstructing justice than upholding it, it sure seems like change is
in order.

DOJ Undermines Pentagon, Allows Wisconsin To Ignore Military Voting Protections

Well, the
Holder Department of Justice is at it again. After it was reported
that the DOJ was encouraging states to apply for a waiver from the requirements
of the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act, it appears DOJ is continuing
to assist states in skirting statutorily mandated provisions aimed at ensuring that
the votes of our Military members are counted. Today, the Holder DOJ struck a deal with the State of
Wisconsin, allowing it to mail ballots to overseas military voters only 32 days
before Election Day, instead of the statutorily mandated 45 days. This comes after the Pentagon denied
Wisconsin’s application for a waiver from the 45-day requirement. “The states granted waivers presented
thorough and comprehensive plans to protect the voting opportunities for
military and overseas voters,” Bob Carey, director of the Federal Voting
Assistance Program, said in a statement.

DOJ
Whistleblower and RNLA Member, J. Christian Adams wrote: “Wisconsin’s waiver
application didn’t even come close to compliance with the MOVE Act. They wanted
to send ballots only 29 days before the election. The folks at the Pentagon
rightfully denied the waiver request.”

Adams went on to explain:

Instead
of aggressively suing Wisconsin immediately after the waiver denial, the DOJ
engaged in secret negotiations. An immediate lawsuit would have strengthened
the negotiating position of the DOJ as well as preserved various equitable
legal arguments, including the argument DOJ waited too long to commence
litigation. Instead of doing the right thing, the DOJ did the easy thing and
reached a settlement with Wisconsin that undermined the Pentagon’s denial of
Wisconsin’s waiver request.

The
tough negotiating stance of the Holder DOJ extracted a whopping additional
three days out of Wisconsin. Ballots will mail 32 days before the election
instead of 29. A consent decree filed Friday will reflect this quisling
agreement.

This
is a disgrace, plain and simple. Military voters, their families and veterans
organizations should be outraged at the Holder DOJ.

In addition, the RNLA points to the Department's handling of the legislation defunding ACORN.

RNLA Chairman David A. Norcross released the following statement in conjunction with the letter:

"The actions out of the Obama Justice Department have been deeply disturbing to those who believe the rule of law supersedes all else in the administration of justice. It is not the Attorney General's job to pick winners and losers, it is his charge to enforce the laws of our country fairly and impartially. Today's letter issued by the RNLA comes on the heels of news reports that the Justice Department is appealing a recent ruling which stated the government's efforts to block funding to ACORN were unconstitutional. Thus far, Mr. Holder has not exhibited a commitment to vigorously prosecuting ACORN for its crimes against the government and the American people, and one can only hope in this appeal, a vigorous effort is put forward. As Attorney General, Holder's record of administering justice impartially is open to debate, how his department handles these matters will speak volumes as to whether politics is being placed before principle."

Please click here for the letter and here for the press release.
