With just over three weeks to go until this year’s RNLA’s National Election Law Seminar, we wanted to provide you with the highlights from this year’s National Policy Conference. Over the past several posts, the RNLA has provided great summaries from a few of our member’s favorite panels:

  • National Security Discussion: Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to President Trump
  • Advancing the Rule of Law at the State Level: Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill, and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry
  • Book Discussion: The Campus Rape Frenzy: The Attack on Due Process at America’s Universities: Stuart Taylor, Jr., National Review & an author of the book
  • Rolling Back the Excesses of the Obama Administration: Congressman Keith Rothfus (PA-12); Michael Franc, Hoover Institution; and Ilya Shapiro, Cato Institute
  • Current Status of Religious Liberties Rights in Law and Litigation: Professor Robert Destro, Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America and Kellie Fiedorek, Alliance Defending Freedom

The event was also bookended with the presentation of two prestigious RNLA awards. In the morning, The Betty Murphy Award was presented to Linda A. Kerns of Philadelphia for her hard work and leadership during the 2016 Election in Pennsylvania. As part of the closing of the conference, White House Counsel Don McGahn was presented the Ed Meese Award for upholding the rule of law in the face of adverse political challenges. Attorney General Meese personally presented this award to Mr. McGahn after addressing the attendees. These two join the ranks of other prestigious RNLA award winners.

The event's main panels were broadcasted live on C-SPAN and are stored online here: AM Sessions & PM Sessions.
