Mr. Michael Kahn

Michael Kahn practices law with an emphasis in First Amendment law, intellectual property
law and complex business litigation. He is a Supreme Court Certified mediator who has
been appointed by several state and federal judges to oversee mediations regarding First
Amendment disputes involving governmental entities, such as municipalities and counties.

Mr. Kahn recognizes the unique and difficult nature of mediating with governmental entities
as a party and understands the dynamic and challenge of representing and dealing with
city and county government. For approximately the past 20 years, Mr. Kahn has acted as
Special Counsel to various Florida cities and counties with regard to both the preparation
of ordinances and defense of ordinances involving First Amendment issues.

Mr. Kahn has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation. In 2005, he completed
a complex trial regarding trade secrets and contract issues concerning the United States
Space Shuttle. It was the longest trial in the history of Brevard County, Florida. He has
tried several other large and complex intellectual and property cases, including cases
involving copyright and trade secrets regarding computer software. See, for example,
Bateman v. Mnemonics, 79 F.3d 1532 (11th Cir. 1996).

Mr. Kahn has been active in Republican politics for many years. Presently he serves as
Republican counsel to Brevard County, Florida, the eighth largest county in Florida. He
has attended numerous seminars on BCRA and election law and advises his county as well
as other political groups on its ramifications. He was the co chairman for South Brevard
for the Jeb Bush for Governor reelection campaign and George W. Bush for President,
reelection campaign. He has also been active in numerous local political races and
appointment processes.

Mr. Kahn has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1977. He received his law
degree from Duke University in 1977. He also holds a Master of Arts from Emory
University from Emory’s Institute of Liberal Arts and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching
from the University of Florida. He has taught and guest lectures on subjects, among
others, concerning law of the First Amendment, adult entertainment regulation and
intellectual property law and litigation. For several years, he was an adjunct professor at
Rollins College where he taught courses, among others, in computer law, professional
ethics, internet law, and the First Amendment.
