Michael Adams brings a wealth of experience in political, governmental and constitutional law to Chalmers Pak Burch & Adams. His practice focuses on counseling and representing candidates, PACs, issue groups, donors and political consultants, in federal, state and local elections. He also counsels clients in other constitutional and regulatory matters.
Since January 2007, Michael has served as General Counsel to the Republican Governors Association (RGA). In that role, he has managed compliance and litigation at one of the nationís foremost political organizations, consulting with governors, staff and donors to ensure compliance with campaign-finance, gift, ethics and pay-to-play laws, and guiding the RGAís efforts to elect Republican governors across the country over ten annual election cycles. Michael also has counseled the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), advising on similar issues, and represented numerous congressional and gubernatorial campaigns and Super PACs in House, Senate and gubernatorial races.
During the George W. Bush Administration, Michael served at the U.S. Department of Justice as Deputy Chief Privacy & Civil Liberties Officer and Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General. Prior to that, Michael served as Deputy General Counsel to Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher. His knowledge gained from experience at senior levels of state and federal government and national politics provides significant value to the firmís clients.
